Yu Mei x Gerard Dombroski Steel Stool, City Gallery Wellington
On June 6, Yu Mei presented Salon Yu Mei at City Gallery Wellington Te Whare Toi, as part of Common Material: contemporary fashion shaped by Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington.
THE EVENT
Common Material arrived at a moment of renewal for Te Whanganui-a-Tara. City Gallery Wellington Te Whare Toi brought together four of Wellington's most significant fashion labels: twenty-seven names, Kowtow, Yu Mei, and JPalm.
The exhibition presented garments, materials, and archival works from each label—an exploration of the craft, process, and values that shape Aotearoa fashion.
